Three weeks ago, during my yearly breast MRI, the doctors saw a small nodule that wasn’t there last year. So today I found myself at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City for a closer look. First they did an ultrasound. They just needed to answer one question: While I was waiting, three different people in the waiting room stopped to tell me how much they loved my shoes and socks. I guess even a hospital visit can have a little style involved. Then the technician came back into the room and said the words every cancer survivor hopes to hear: “Yes… it’s just fat.” I cannot tell you how happy I was to hear that sentence.
