Is your money messy?

Dear Reader,

The day after my pump track spill in Sun Valley, I slept in at the Airbnb.

I was resting my wrist, shoulder, ribs, and chin after riding my beautiful pink e-bike straight off a turn I did not understand.

So while I was home recovering, the rest of the extended family biked to breakfast.

Then they went on the gondola up the ski slope.

My daughters and the babies stayed at the top to play and enjoy the view.

But Brace, my son-in-law, and a few brave riders decided to do the downhill mountain biking trail down the ski slope.

According to Brace, 90% of the ride was fantastic.

And then came the last 10%.

He hit a stump or rock. The front wheel made it over, but the pedal caught it, and the bike went down hard. My son-in-law took a picture of the spot right where he fell.

Thankfully, we were with my son-in-law’s father, Scott, who is a doctor. He helped clean Brace up at the lodge and looked at his shoulder.

His opinion?

“Yeah… that clavicle is broken.”

My Penelope drove us both home that night, and the next morning we went to the ER for the official cleanup and answers.

And yes.

It was more than a clavicle.

Brace broke his clavicle, his scapula, and ribs one through five.

That is not a “shake it off and keep going” kind of fall.

And it made me think about business.

Sometimes your money is messier than you think.

At first glance, everything may look mostly fine.

Revenue is coming in.

Customers are happy.

Bills are getting paid.

But underneath?

The books are messy.

There’s no money left at the end of the month.

The numbers are unclear.

You don’t have a cash flow system.

And if you keep going without cleaning it up, you make decisions based on guesses instead of facts.

That is a dangerous way to run a business.

Just like Brace needed a real diagnosis, your business needs real numbers.

Not hunches.

Not hope.

Not “I think we’re okay.”

Real data.

Clear reports.

A cash flow system you can actually trust.

Because once you know what is really happening, you can make better decisions.

You can fix what needs fixing.

You can stop making the mess worse.

And you can move forward with confidence.

If your business finances feel messy, do not wait until the damage gets bigger.

Let’s help you get a financial GPS so you can make informed decisions.

Profitably Yours,

Dear Reader, One of my daughters is an incredibly gifted sewist. Now, I'm old school. I would call her a seamstress. But she assures me that the new, hip Instagram word is "sewist." She makes the most adorable beach covers for her children. Sun covers, swimsuit cover-ups, whatever you want to call them - they are darling. And they get used. They live three miles from the beach, so around their house, a cover-up isn't a cute accessory. It's required equipment. Those little ones would be crispy...

Dear Reader, This week, our family escaped to beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. We spent our mornings doing one of my favorite things — biking to breakfast with my husband, my two daughters, my grandchildren, and extended family. On Thursday, we biked to Hailey, Idaho. After breakfast, everyone decided to head over to a pump track. I’ll be honest. I did not even know what a pump track was. I like biking on the road. Smooth paths. Predictable turns. Nothing too surprising. I am not a mountain...

Dear Reader, Have you ever seen A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder? It is one of the most entertaining shows I've ever watched. Great story. Laugh-out-loud funny. And it has a secret. One actor plays a handful of the characters in the show. The same man keeps showing up in each murder scene. Different costume. Different voice. Different walk. And most of the audience doesn't fully catch on until the end. One actor. All those parts. Sound familiar? If you're a solopreneur, that's you....
