Dear Reader, This is our first year living in Utah, and on December 27th — the morning we celebrated Christmas with all three of my daughters, my son-in-law, and our three grandchildren — we woke up to a light dusting of snow. It hasn’t snowed much since we moved here. In fact, this little snow didn’t even stick to the cement — it only covered the grass. But my son-in-law grew up in Utah, so he knew exactly what to do. He bundled up his daughter, grabbed his son (this photo is of my grandson), and headed outside. Using almost no snow, he rolled it in a zigzag pattern through the grass, building a perfect base… then did it again… and again. You could literally see the path where the snowman was made. Meanwhile, we Californians were just watching in amazement 😅 My husband contributed by running inside to grab Oreo cookies — his favorite kind with toffee inside — for the snowman’s eyes. And yes… that’s my husband, the love of my life, in flip-flops and shorts. Very Utah. Very dad. And as I stood there watching, it hit me: This is exactly how money works. When your finances are organized, you don’t need more money to feel safe — you just need to know how to use what you already have. Too many business owners keep everything in one main account and spend from it as life happens. Then an emergency pops up, payroll feels tight, or a surprise expense causes stress. But when your money is organized — when profit, taxes, owner pay, and expenses each have a place — you’re ready. You can handle life as it comes, even when resources feel thin. Just like that snowman. Because James grew up with snow, he knew how to work with what was there. And most entrepreneurs simply haven’t been taught how to organize their money — especially women. That’s why we’re getting ready to launch something new in January. A membership designed to coach women entrepreneurs to: We need more women with more money — because money gives you options, influence, and a louder voice. If you’d like to be invited to my FREE Business Finance Class for Women happening in January, just reply to this email and let me know. We’re so excited to bring this to you.

Dear Reader, Several years ago we were in Hurricane, Utah, spending time with our cousins. My husband, my two daughters, and I went ATV-ing with our favorite cousins. If you’ve never been to that part of Utah, everything is red.Red dirt. Red sand. Red rocks. I made one critical mistake:I wore a cute shirt I actually liked. That shirt is now permanently stained red. Lesson learned — don’t wear nice clothes when you’re riding ATVs in southern Utah. After the ride, we parked the ATVs in the...
Dear Reader, When I was growing up, church activities were our entertainment — especially in middle school and high school. And the big event every weekend was a dance. I grew up in Southern California, in Riverside. My dad was a professor at UCR, so we went wherever the dances were happening — Riverside, Costa Mesa, Corona, Irvine — whatever church gym was hosting that week. Now here’s the funny part. My background was ballet. Serious ballet.Nutcracker every year. Pointe shoes.Three to five...
Dear Reader, As you know, we’ve moved to Utah, and lately we’ve been unpacking the garage and closets to get ready for a party this weekend. In the middle of it all, my husband brought me a box from his office and said, “I think this is yours.” Inside were three old, envelope-sized wallets. One was black and sparkly. One had fun pictures on it.One was simple blue leather. And instantly, I was taken back about ten years. Back then, I used a full envelope system. I would literally go to the...
